Although many changes were introduced by states, professor Grabowska understanding the importance if this decree opts for its quick acceptance.

Professor Grabowska was present while candidates for the next parliamentary term of European Personal Data Protection position were heard. In the best interest of both, Poland and Europe she consulted and co-operated with Mr Michał Serzycki – the General Inspector of Personal Data Protector in Poland.

5 November 2008, Brussels, Meeting with the representatives of Catholic Mass Media. Professor Grabowska has met in Brussels with the representatives of polish catholic mass media. During this interesting meeting Professor Grabowska presented the recent directives she has been working in Committees. Also, the issues of alimony and current tasks were touched upon.

31 October 2008, Brussels – Katowice. A European competition for young translators. As many as 17 schools from Silesian Region have qualified for the competition announced by European Committee and promoted in our region by Professor Grabowska.

29 October 2008, “Do we waste food?” Professor Genowefa Grabowska , as a member of parliamentary Committee concerning environmental protection, health and food safety participated in a Polish Radio station “Trójka” broadcast titled “For and against” . In Poland there is 30% of people confessing to buying too much food. What does the European Union have to say about that significant and alarming issue?

28 October 2008, Katowice, A professional training for librarians titled “European funds for librarians in years 2007-2013”. Professor Genowefa Grabowska has organised a professional training for librarians from our region. Various ways of gaining funds were introduced to the participants. They were also presented a proper way of qualifying for funds and training. There were 96 participants from all over region of Silesia and all of them received certificates.

25 October 2008, Czestochowa, An award for Professor Grabowska. Professor Grabowska has been awarded a “Friend of Polish Teachers Association” prize in recognition of her social, cultural and educational activity. She received the award from Mr Sławomir Broniarz – the president of the Association and Mr Kazimierz Piekarz- the president of the district.

25 October 2008, Częstochowa, X Jubilee of the Częstochowa district emergence. Professor Grabowska participated in the ceremonious XXIV city council session. In that meeting representatives of the self-government authorities as well as Honourable guests took part. Mr Andrzej Kwapisz- the district governor presented the history of the district and summarised achievements . Professor Genowefa Grabowska received a memorial medal in recognition of her support and cooperation.

24 October 2008, Katowice, 15 years of Provincial Environment Protection and Water Policy Fund. Professor Grabowska after being invited by Mrs Gabriela Lenartowicz – the president of the Fund , gladly participated in the ceremony dedicated to the Jubilee . During the celebration the “Eco- Active ” and “Solid Partner” awards were presented.
